Patricia Charpentier - Speaker for March Meeting

Patricia Charpentier, author of the award-winning book, Eating an Elephant: Write Your Life    One Bite at a Time, will be the guest speaker at the March 10th Pasco County Genealogy Society’s meeting. Patricia teaches, writes, edits and ghostwrites personal and family history.

This informative and fun presentation focuses on the different methods of preserving family history and how to take the facts of ancestral information—names, places and dates—and turn them into interesting and enjoyable stories without fictionalizing the material. We’ll discuss different ways to look at historical data with an eye for story, not just to fill in a blank on a genealogy form, and how to apply the elements of creative writing—characterization, detail and description, setting, plot—to factual records.

Come and join us as Patricia helps motivate and guide us in leaving written legacies for our families.

Mark your calendar for Saturday, March 10, 2012. The meeting is held at the Church of  Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 9016 Fort King Road, Dade City. The business meeting starts at 10 A.M. with the presentation following. Hope to see you all on March 10th.
