Dipping Your Fingers In Paint - FGS (Tampa) July 2, 2011

The Florida Genealogical Society is pleased to announce its July program. Our meeeting will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, July 2, 2011, in the Auditorium of the John F. Germany Public Library at 900 N. Ashley Drive in downtown Tampa. Our speakers will be the Technology Tamers, Pattie Schultz and Pam Treme. They will present a program titled "Dipping Your Fingers In Paint."

Paint is a free graphics program that comes with the Windows operating system for the PC. Most genealogists don't know it's there or how to use it. This session introduces you to Paint and shows you three skills that you can use to jump start your use of this piece of ignored software. The presenters are Pattie Schultz and Pam Treme, two FGS members who happen to work in the computer industry. Their presentations revolve around using software to make genealogy easier to do and present.

Join us to learn a new software tool that you can use in your family history and personal publishing!

The Florida State Genealogical Society has a New Website

It is www.flsgs.org.

It is cleaner than the old one, and has new and additional features.

Check it out!

There is fresh information about the Conference which is just North of Orlando in November. I asked Google maps how far that was from where we have our monthly meetings and I got several routes ranging from 75 to 87 miles with estimated drive times from one and a half hours to two hours.
