New Databases Available thru Familysearch.org Pilot

The FamilySearch Record Search Pilot Site (http://pilot.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#start) now searched besides a numbers of Federal Censuses some interesting databases:
  • Florida Deaths 1877-1939
  • Ireland Civil Registration Index 1845-1958
  • Michigan Marriages 1868-1925
  • Ohio Deaths 1908-1953
  • Ontario Deaths 1868-1925
These databases are the product of volunteers transcribing key information from records to searchable databases.

The Florida Deaths 1877-1939 is not the same as the Florida Death Index on Ancestry.com. This database includes information from the death certificates like parents; birth and death places and dates; spouses; and more.

  1. No sooner than I post a find that Dick Eastman reports that even more databases have been added to the FamilySearch.org Pilot.

Check Eastman's post, Millions of Historic Southern Records Now on the Web or the link blog.eogn.com/eastmans_online_genealogy/2009/05/millions-of-historic-southern-records-now-on-the-web.html.
