What's New?

Just wondering what all our members have been doing this summer? Are you finishing your genealogy? Helping others find their family history? Reading historical novels?
We would be interested in reading about it. Send in your story now.
I have been getting some census records on extended family members while working at the Family History Center that I neglected to get before. You know, lack of time got in the way before. I am also helping a fellow member to search further back on her lines. And, as you can tell, I think I have mastered posting on the blog.
Hoping to hear what you are doing.

  1. My summer started out great! I was unemployed and doing as much genealogy as I wanted. But, alas, reality came crashing in and I started a new job in July.

While I don't have as much time for research I can afford those high price records from NARA again!

  2. I'm trying to get the newsletter finished so that I can get back to the cookbook. Time this summer is slipping away faster than I can keep up!

  3. I have been working on my genealogy and sourcing a stack of papers that I had not found time to take care of. I have also narrowed the death date of an elusive relative down to two years. If you haven't been using our library and ordering films from the LDS you should get on the ball. With money and gas prices tight using films can be a great way to save on some of the records you might need. If you don't know how to use the LDS catalog to order films or which ones you might need, just come to the library and let one of our trained members give you a hand.

    Can't wait for the cookbook!

  4. Hope all are having a good summer, seems to be flying by.

I have read two books of fiction by Ken Follett est 2000 pages covering generations during the 1100's to the mid 1300's in an English village. Learned some genealogy terms and it was a fascinating read....and you think we have difficulties!

Looking forward to the cookbook and new programs planned for PCGS this year.
    C U soon
