Road Trip !

The Pasco County Genealogical Society visited the John F. Germany Library in Tampa for its May education program.

It had been awhile since some of us had visited the library and we were quite pleased with all the material we found. Some members took advantage of signing up for their complimentery Hillsborough County library card and another check out books!

A nice touch is that the library is a 'hot spot' so those of us who brought our laptops were able to access the Internet and cross reference some of our research.

With the success of this "Road Trip" we would appreciate suggestions on our next destination. Please post suggestions for future roadtrip to this message and we will consider them.

  1. It is more than just a "hot spot." You can access all of the online databases on your laptop even those not allow by "at home" access. Databases like Ancestry Library Edition, Grants to Individuals Online, and the Foundation Directory Online. The only drawback I saw for laptops was that the electrical outlets were not easily available at the study tables so one has to run on battery power or run cords.
