New Family Search Site

In January Cathy published info and the following link for Family Search Labs Record Search: http://search.labs.familysearch.org

I'm re-posting to get this info back to the top of the blog.

I finally got around to trying out the new site this week. If you are searching in Texas, this site is a must-visit gold mine. I found loads of info from the Texas Death Index.

The site is easy to use and the search results are easy to look through. The results are much better than I've gotten at other sites. It's one of the friendless genealogy sites I've seen in a long time. The best part is when you find info you want, there's a link that lets you copy the text from the screen to your pasteboard (clipboard). From there, you can paste the info directly into your genealogy software (for example, on a notes page).

As the Family Search Labs project progresses, it is going to make life very easy for researchers. I can't wait until they put the St. Louis marriage index online.

Family Search Labs is getting a big thumbs up from me! Try it...You'll love it.

  1. Pam,
Thank you for putting the link back up. Everyone should try the site for sure. I also love it and found a lot of information for KY and IL. I also found it to be faster loading than some other sites.
